Berry Tractor & equipment company is the former Sam H. Denney Road Machinery Co., which existed from 1928 to 1957 as a distributor for International Harvester.  After Denney's death in 1956, Fred Berry Jr. and his brother, Paul, purchased the business from the Denney estate.  They renamed it for the former farm equipment distribution company founded in 1928 by Fred Berry.  Sr. in St. Louis, Mo.  His company was sold in 1957 when he retired.  Berry Tractor is now a division of Berry Companies, Inc.  Dan Scheer is President of Berry Tractor and Walter Berry is President of Berry Companies.  Fred Berry is chairman  Berry Tractor is headquartered in Wichita, KS., and has branches in Garden City, KS., Topeka, KS., and Springfield, Mo.  Berry Tractor continues to be a major player in the construction equipment industry in the midwest.
